Both head coaches, Tianren Zhang and Peilan Qu, previously played for the Chinese National Team and later became coaches for the team.

Tianren Zhang also served as the chief coach of the Beijing women’s team, where he trained and developed Lang Ping, the world-famous volleyball player, and helped her join the National Team. He later worked as an assistant coach at the University of Washington, Kalamazoo College, and Hillsdale College.

Peilan Qu set a world record by performing 500 consecutive defensive dives during an observational training session while playing for the Chinese National Team. As an assistant coach for the national team, she participated in the Asian Games held in Iran. As the chief coach of the Chinese Youth Team, she led the team to 2nd place finishes in both the 1st and 2nd World Youth Championships. She has trained many excellent young players, some of whom joined the national team and became world-class athletes. She was awarded the title of international volleyball coach by the International Committee of Volleyball Coaches, with the committee chairman personally presenting her the certificate.

Both Tianren Zhang and Peilan Qu coached the Dead Frog Club team in Michigan, leading them to a 2nd place finish at the U.S. Junior National Championships in 1998. They also coached City Beach 15 Black, achieving 1st place in the NCVA and 5th place at the U.S. Junior National Championships. Currently, they coach various age groups from 12 to 16 at the Eclipse Volleyball Club, helping them secure numerous 1st place finishes in the NCVA.
