Born and raised in Hawaii, I didn’t begin playing organized volleyball until joining the military out of high school; volleyball came easy.  I graduated from the University of Maryland and continue to work for the federal government.   I lived in Germany for 14 years, playing for Air Force base teams and local German leagues while living there.   I’ve played volleyball 25+ years but only started coaching junior volleyball a few years ago.  I’ve acquired considerable knowledge of how volleyball is played; now I’d like to impart that knowledge to the coaching side of it and pass it on to the young players.  I still compete in various leagues and tournaments from indoors, grass and sand doubles.

"My coaching style comes from playing football at Waianae High School, Hawaii. The coaches are local legends.  It was their dedication to discipline, fundamentals and the sense of teamwork and pride that produced championships year after year.  I believe in developing quick and proper footwork, volleyball fundamentals and acumen. I believe that a player’s confidence is key in being successful as a team and for them to achieve their potential. I want players to play with pride in their team, their club, their family and their community before themselves.  Volleyball is a team sport, there is no individuality.  My high school coaches’ model is proven and that by combining this with my volleyball playing experience my hope is that I can be a part of continuing to build a great volleyball program at the Eclipse Volleyball club. "
