How to prevent common volleyball injuries

Thursday, April 11th, 2013

Injuries are never fun. Besides the pain and practice time wasted, they may leave chronic lingering effects. Prevention require a combination of rest and healing in recovery as well as strengthening and protections in prevention.

Common injuries include
- ankle spring/twists
- knee twists or ligment tears
- lower back pain
- shoulder muscle or rotator cuff strains
- general muscle sprains

I’ll highlight a couple aspects. They are not meant to be comprehensive. Please consult physical therapists and other literature to gain deeper knowledge.

2010 NonLeague#4 results

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Hello, all Eclipsoids,
Now that we have settled into a groove early in the season, we wanted to give an update on recent success our teams have achieved in NonLeague #4. Overall, it was a great experience for all 7 teams. Competition level varied in tournaments, but all teams got a chance to learn about playing with teammates and working through ups and downs as a team. The tournament prepared us well to enter into league play. Our multi-day tournaments during the season will also give us new challenges to elevate our performance to the next level.
Overall, we are very happy with the progress with all of the teams placing in top 4 and 3 teams winning their brackets. We look forward to another exciting season to add to the great tradition at Eclipse. We also want to thank all the coaches for their efforts and parents for their support, especially the ones organizing car-pools and foods for all the teams.
Go Eclipse!
The newsletters will be also updated into club blog at http://www.eclipsevolleyballclub.com/blog/
Also results will be updated into team web pages under results tab.
We have also uploaded photos for some teams into club gallery at

Regionals 2009 Summary

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Hello, Eclipsoids,

Here’s full report from past 2 weekend’s competitions. Please enjoy.

This weekend was our last competition for all teams. After a wonderful and successful season, we hope everyone had fun and made many new friends.

We could honestly say that this was one of our most successful seasons having teams winning the division in all of 12s, 14s and 16s in the same year. We could not have achieved this without all the hard work from parents, players and coaches.

We want to sincerely thank everyone for choosing Eclipse and supporting coaches and the club all season.
