Injuries are never fun. Besides the pain and practice time wasted, they may leave chronic lingering effects. Prevention require a combination of rest and healing in recovery as well as strengthening and protections in prevention.
Common injuries include
- ankle spring/twists
- knee twists or ligment tears
- lower back pain
- shoulder muscle or rotator cuff strains
- general muscle sprains
I’ll highlight a couple aspects. They are not meant to be comprehensive. Please consult physical therapists and other literature to gain deeper knowledge.

Hello, all,
Happy Holidays!
We hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing break but also staying active and in-shape to prepare for season start
. Head coaches Tian and Peilan hope all the setters could get some touches everyday during the break. They recommend you simply set a ball to the wall and straight up to yourself at least 100 times a day. If you have access to a setters (training) ball, that will be even better.
Additionally, here’s some tips on keys to becoming a great setter. This is the first of a series quick training instructions on all aspects of the game. They will be posted on our club blog at http://eclipsevolleyballclub.com/blog .

Coaching Corner is meant to give some quick tips or reference to specific fundamental skills for all positions.
First episode talks about how to hit a “quick” or 1 ball. It is not limited to MBs and contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be tall to do it, although it certainly helps. There’s 3 keys to doing it well, timing, timing and timing! In order to be on time, footwork is huge as are for all things in volleyball. Here’s some tips:

Hello, Eclipsoids,
We just want to give some updates on recent competition. Congrats on a great President’s Day tournament finish. It is a tournament that Eclipse has always enjoyed playing in and achieved much success in the past. It was a long three days, full of sweat, pain, joy, ups and downs.
We know that for many teams, if a few points went a different way by us or other matches, we could have easily ended up even higher in seeding. But we want to emphasize that the more important point is that each team and player has improved through these challenging competitions. We also value and camaraderie and sportsmanship we built.
